Multifamily Maintenance Technician – HVAC

B5 Recruiting is partnering with a large property management organization that is looking to hire several Maintenance Technicians. As a Maintenance tech, you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional service to their residence ensuring the property is safe, attractive, and well-maintained. You’ll work closely with our property management team and gain hands-on experience in a variety of trades. This role will be a contract to hire opportunity. 

What You’ll Do:
  • Prepare apartments for new residents (turns & move-outs).
  • Complete work orders efficiently and professionally.
  • Keep exterior areas clean and well-presented (curb appeal).
  • Conduct routine and preventive maintenance.
  • Daily trash pickup and grounds upkeep.
  • Maintain trash compactors and swimming pools (in season).
  • Check irrigation systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of work and materials used.
  • Participate in the on-call maintenance rotation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Troubleshoot and repair:
  • Plumbing.
  • Basic electrical.
  • Appliances.
  • Carpentry & drywall.
  • Roofing & flooring.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1–3+ years of maintenance experience in multifamily, apartment communities, residential property management, or a similar residential environment.
  • Experience with plumbing, basic electrical, appliance repair, carpentry/drywall, roofing, and/or flooring.
  • Ability to complete apartment turns, work orders, and preventive maintenance independently.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Own set of basic maintenance tools.
  • Ability to participate in an on-call maintenance rotation.

Preferred:

  • HVAC/EPA, CFC, or CPO certification.
  • Hands-on HVAC troubleshooting and repair experience.
